Lucky it’s a gorgeous day in Melbourne, as in true pop-up style we’re busy putting the finishing touches on the hard to miss rusty coloured shipping container outside ACCA. Over the next five weeks the container will become home to a sequence of new works, created by young local artists, with exhibitions changing on a weekly basis.
Inside the container this week is One of the Ones, a collaborative project which aims to map the emergence of a collective, and will evolve throughout the week.
Made up of Enrique Tochez Anderson, Eva Birch, Arini Byng, Hanna Chetwin, Georgina Glanville, and Sophie Kitson our first exhibition details the process of making paper using recycled materials as a group, and opens up a discussion about the viability of reaching a utopian coming together.
This process continues throughout the exhibition as the group prints concrete poetry onto the handmade paper.
Pop in and watch the artist’s ongoing documentation process. The ‘baby ACCA’ will be open between 11:30am and 2.30pm Tuesday – Sunday, with an opening celebration happening at 5pm, Friday 19 August.
